What if your daughter could spend an hour each week celebrating an inspiring woman in science, getting curious about how the world works, and creating something amazing with her own hands?
In Girl Power Science's new STEMinista Club, girls will explore the fascinating worlds of marine biology, paleontology, genetics, electrical engineering, space science, and geology. Each week, we'll meet a trailblazing woman in science and dive into a hands-on experiment, building challenge, or creative project inspired by her work.
From examining real shark tooth fossils and digging for ancient treasures to building glowing paper circuits and launching rockets, every session is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and show girls that science is for them, too!
September 24 | Shark Lady: Eugenie Clark
Dive into the world of sharks with marine biologist Eugenie Clark! Examine real shark tooth fossils, explore fascinating animal adaptations, and take on a creative challenge inspired by the amazing creatures of the ocean.
October 1 | Fossil Hunters: Mary Anning
Travel back in time with fossil hunter Mary Anning. Make your own fossils, then become a paleontologist in a hands-on fossil-digging adventure!
October 8 | The Secret Code of Life: Rosalind Franklin
Explore the microscopic world of DNA and discover how scientists investigate the building blocks of life. Create a colorful 3D DNA model and, if time allows, try a strawberry DNA extraction.
October 15 | Light It Up! Hertha Marks Ayrton
Meet pioneering electrical engineer Hertha Marks Ayrton and discover how circuits work. Build your own paper circuit using copper tape, batteries, and LED lights, then create a light-up project to take home!
October 22 | Rocket Science: Katherine Johnson
Blast off with mathematician Katherine Johnson! Explore the role of math in space travel, then design, build, and launch your own rockets. Test your ideas and see how far your rocket can fly!
October 29 | Spooky Science: Earth's Hidden Worlds with Marie Tharp
Celebrate Halloween with a journey into the mysterious worlds beneath our feet and beneath the ocean. Explore Earth's hidden layers and create a 3D model of our planet, with a few spooky surprises along the way!
