Our Body Literacy Books

Grow more. Fear less.

Our body is a compass. We just have to learn how to read it! Our “Road Map to Body Literacy” book series empowers children to feel strong, confident, and ready to face any challenge. Author, Konika Ray Wong, M.Ed is a preschool through sixth grade science teacher with over two decades of experience. She is passionate about cultivating body literacy and fostering an attitude of gratitude toward our changing bodies.

In “One in a Million - A First Book About Periods”, children meet a cute uterus character that takes them on a journey that demystifies the process of ovulation and the menstrual cycle.

This empowering first introduction is a guided story for kids ages four and up to read with a grownup. The author has shared this story with her own daughter and thousands of her students and she is thrilled to share the narrative with a broader audience. The kid-friendly characters and simple scientifically accurate text set a positive tone about periods without shame or stigma.

In “How to Tame a Tickle Monster - A First Book About Body Safety”, children will discover their own superpowers - tools that boost self-awareness, self-esteem, and the ability to recognize and handle tricky situations.

With catchy rhymes, enchanting illustrations, and fun games and activities, they’ll learn essential lessons about body safety, boundaries, and consent. Let’s dive into an adventure to uncover the power of our personal space bubble and how we can protect it from anyone who tries to invade it!
